The Life and Times of Christ

The Life and Times of Christ, as the title states, gives a brief look at the Gospel’s representation of Christ’s life here upon Earth. The first board reminds us of how, over a period of 4,000 years, the Old Testament promises of Christ’s Coming gradually become clearer and more detailed as the momentous event of His birth into this world takes place.

Normally Simon Peter, as narrator, takes the children through the remaining 17 boards from the birth to the Resurrection of the Saviour. Along the way we meet Mary, the Mother of Jesus - who tells the story of the birth and boyhood of Jesus. We later meet ‘The Woman of Samaria’, or ‘Woman at the Well’ and ‘Nicodemus’, who tell of their experiences of meeting with the Saviour and the important things Christ told them. The ‘Bride of Cana’ tells of Christ’s first miracle at her wedding where Jesus turns ordinary water into wine. Many of the other miracles are then also retold.

The children are reminded of others like ‘Bartimaeus’ who Jesus healed completely. ‘Caiaphas’, the High Priest, helps lead the story into the great event of Calvary. The ‘Centurion’ gives us even more details of the Cross, and how he came to realise that this Man was truly the Son of God. The importance of the Resurrection and Ascension is brought out in the next 2 boards.

On the final boards, from 16 to 18, the children are reminded of ‘What the Angels told us about Christ’, what God says about Christ, and what people said of Him. Then on the last display we see what Christ said of Himself and also what He taught regarding the future and how He will come again.

The pictures are mounted on 18 boards approximately 91 cm x 122 cm (3 ft by 4 ft), which are fixed onto light stands (designed to easily lift to one side for a hall to be used for other purposes).
