My Testimony

I have had the great privilege of growing up with Christian parents, who taught me about God from an early age. I was 7 years old when I came to know the Lord. I started thinking about where we came from and believed that it had to be from God as the Bible says. I realised that if one part of the Bible was true then the rest of it had to be otherwise you are calling God a liar, and I knew He wasn’t. This meant that I was a sinner and deserved to be punished for all my sins. It was then that I realised my need of Jesus Christ as my personal saviour. I asked God to forgive me my sins and to make me His servant.

I have a chronic lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis (CF) along with a few other related health problems. As a result I have often had to spend time in hospital. It has been during those low times in my life that I can certainly testify to the Lord’s goodness and kindness in keeping me looking to Him.

With CF there is the possibility that I will not have as long on this earth as the average person and so a shorter time to serve God. I want to make sure that the time I do have is spent serving God to the full.

I came into contact with OAM 4 years ago when I went on Beach Mission to Sandown on the Isle of Wight. By the end of the week although I loved the work with the children I was thoroughly hooked on Open Air work. I then spent a year with OAM as a Trainee Evangelist, after my A Levels, and my love of the work grew. Last September, as an OAM Associate, I headed to University to start teacher training. However I found that my health did not lend itself to being in the classroom and spent several months at the beginning of this year quite ill. It was during this time again that I started to think again about working with OAM. The Lord has since then made it very clear to me that I am supposed to serve Him through the OAM.
