After 3 years of faithful service, Joe Hayden, (formerly a full-time evangelist with the Mission), has retired from the oversight of the Bible Exhibitions. We would like to thank Joe so much for all his enthusiasm and hard work.
Ÿ
For an initial period of 6 months, the Exhibitions will be overseen by Associate worker, Alec Molton, who lives in Suffolk.
Ÿ
We are pleased to welcome Dr John Mann from Weymouth and Daniel Ashby from Northern Ireland, (former trainee), as new Associate workers.
Ÿ
The Mission website has been revamped. The site now includes 50 visual outlines for use in the open-air. These can simply be printed off and are ready for use. Sincere thanks go to Douglas Young and JP Earnest for putting all this together.
Ÿ
A final reminder to those who have taken part in our Beach Missions in the past, the reunion will take place in Coventry from 12th-14th February. For further details please contact the office.
Ÿ
Application forms are available from the office for Team Events and Beach Missions. These provide great opportunities for involvement in outreach work in a variety of settings. Please book early if you are interested in attending.
Ÿ
After most of our Team Events reports are produced, which give a helpful insight into each outreach opportunity. If you would like to be put onto the mailing list to receive these, please contact the office.
ANNUAL MEETINGS
The 156th Annual Meetings of the Mission, which took place at the end of October were such an encouragement. The Kings Centre in South Leicester is a lovely venue and it was great to see numbers up on last year. Around 225 people gathered to hear reports from each of the 13 evangelists. The men shared very honestly about the struggles and difficulties they sometimes face in various open-air situations as well as the many encouragements.
The Mission’s Chairman, Graham Cole, was the preacher for the afternoon session and spoke of the fact that the only sufficient remedy for ‘Broken Britain’ was the gospel message. Mr Cole took the opportunity in his opening remarks to pay tribute to the work of the Christian Institute, which has been such a help to OAM on a number of occasions in recent years. Increasingly people from town centre authorities have challenged the right of the evangelists to preach and distribute free Christian literature. During their reports several of the evangelists had spoken of encounters they had had with council officials and each was at pains to stress that they always seek to be courteous and gracious in these situations. So far, with the help of the Christian Institute, the liberty to tell men and women that they are sinners who need to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation has been upheld.

NEWS OF JOHN BOLGER
I would like to express my thankfulness to God and His people. I am so grateful for the many ways that Christians have shown their support to me and my family. This whole experience has brought me closer to the Lord.

Please continue to pray as I still have some way to go. Walking again and the severed nerve in my right arm are big challenges I face and there may be further surgery needed. I long to be preaching in the open-air again, but I haven’t been idle while in hospital. Almost every day the Lord has given me opportunities to witness and I have been able to give out many tracts and CDs to members of staff.
