ALL AGES
Many special offers are available for particular groups of people, or specified age groups, like free bus passes for the over 60s! By contrast, the message of the gospel is available for all age groups.
In Ilfracombe we had a long conversation with Malcolm, who was in his 80s. He confessed he had never read, or even considered the Bible at all during his life. As we explained the message of the Bible and then gave our testimonies, Malcolm became very interested and was keen to take a gospel of John and a ‘Sure of Heaven?’ CD.
While in Bridgwater we met Brenda, a middle-aged lady. At fi rst she refused a tract, saying she was a Roman Catholic. That gave me the opportunity to explain that it is not religion that saves us from sin and makes us right with God, but knowing the Saviour. I was able to briefl y tell her how I had been religious many years ago, but came to know the Lord in a personal way. Brenda seemed to soften and at the end of the conversation accepted literature.
We have been amazed at the number of young people who came to us with good questions throughout 2011. We were given great opportunities to explain the gospel to many. For example, there was Gary, a troubled young man who wanted to get away from Satanism, but had been told by Christians that he had committed the unforgivable sin and there was no hope for him. He seemed so relieved to know that he could still come to the Saviour!
