Trustees of The Open-Air Mission are committed to Safeguarding. We have a valid Safeguarding policy in operation under the supervision of Safeguarding Co-ordinators and Trustees.
However owing to the nature of our work in meeting with members of the public in various settings we do not take direct responsibility for any individual who we come into contact with. On Beach Missions, parents/guardians retain responsibility for their children; at Bible Exhibitions, the school or church retains responsibility for the children; at externally-run events, the organiser retains the responsibility for the children (please note, OAM workers will abide by the principles of any external safeguarding policies provided to them) and in street evangelism we do not take responsibility for those we meet. For OAM hosted-events, our own Safeguarding Policy is in operation.
Our Safeguarding Policy is available upon request.
